About The Fibonacci Initiative

Profit or non-profit?
We all live for profit, so how can one be non-profit? The real problem is that governments cannot calculate specific parameters that profit humanity. We can't calculate their direct benefit to the economy or their monetary value. How can we know the contribution of a psychologist to the economy apart from the amount of taxes they pay? How can we measure the impact of school systems? How can we measure if things are good or bad for society? Is well-being a currency? And if it's a currency, can we trade it?

Technology as a Service to Society
Our vision is to enhance the unity of economic and societal value – with the help of data science, technology, and social vision.Turning unstructured data into structured data is hard; that's why measuring the world is so challenging. However, technology is progressing faster every day to the computational power that will enable us to accelerate the quantification of the world we live in and thus – create a better society. We believe it's time to draw our imagination of a better world on a new canvas. This canvas shares the voice of many people who contribute daily to humanity. Scientists, tech people, artists.

Does it concern me?
While the day-to-day can feel distinct from those heavy or far-fetched ideas, those big concepts slowly eat us alive when it comes to the economy and our well-being. Global warming, the threat of World War 3, inequality, plagues, the conquest of space – we all deserve to feel safer. The Old Decision-Making Process of Civilizations: The problem is that our decision-making processes as collectives are not well adapted and haven't adapted to the current technological environment. There isn't a system that can truly represent the collective's true feelings and actual will. The only systems that capture those above are designed for the profit of a few.

Although money is indeed An Effective Feedback System, the collective needs to be managed; we need to work our society not only with feelings and stress but with mathematics and numbers that represent the true nature of a collective.

We are creating a borderless community.
community that is based on shared values
community that will be based on the passion of creation
community that will create apparent social mobility based on contributions to humanity.
Contribution to society will be defined by the collective and concrete data.

I. Intellectual Values:
- The Pursuit of Knowledge: We hold a deep-seated belief in the importance of continuous scientific exploration and research to augment our understanding of the world and cosmos. Every member is encouraged to employ scientific principles in their daily lives, fostering a community of lifelong learners.
- Empirical Evidence: We recognize the critical function of empirical evidence in forming truths. Our faith is anchored in observable reality, and a rational, skeptical approach is nurtured among our followers. We believe that subjective experiences must be tested against the objective truths of the universe to realize a more profound understanding.
- Rational Inquiry: We advocate for the freedom of thoughts and expression, championing the rights of every individual to question and probe. Rational inquiry is not merely accepted; it forms the backbone of our decision-making process. Every belief, every decision, is subject to critical inspection fostering an open dialogue to navigate towards the truth.

II. Ethical Values:
- Humanism: At the heart of our ethical values lies a firm belief in Humanism, which recognizes and respects the inherent worth and dignity of every human being. We advocate for an empathetic society that promotes compassionate, ethical behaviour and respect for all individuals regardless of their race, gender, nationality, or belief.
- Ethical Utilitarianism: We adopt the principle of Ethical Utilitarianism, advocating that every action should aim for the greatest good for the greatest number of people. By emphasizing the benefit to humanity as a whole, we encourage ethical conduct in personal, professional, and societal contexts.
- Environmental Stewardship: Our ethical values extend beyond human society to the natural world. We are firmly committed to preserving the environment, promoting sustainable practices, and instilling a sense of responsibility for all forms of life. We believe that our actions should not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
- Technological Advancement: We warmly embrace technological progress that enhances human life, however, we insist that such advancements respect ethical considerations. This involves ensuring privacy, autonomy, and safety while utilizing technology and espousing its use for the benefit and upliftment of society.

III. Freedom and Equality:
- Agency & self-determination: We firmly uphold the basic human rights and liberties of every individual. We promote intellectual freedom, freedom of speech and expression, and the freedom to question. Every person in our community is encouraged to explore and express their individuality, and to question norms and beliefs in their pursuit of truth.
- Social Justice and Equality: We take a firm stand against all forms of discrimination, prejudice, and inequality. We believe in an equitable society where every individual is treated fairly and has equal rights and opportunities, no matter their race, gender, social status, or beliefs. We work actively towards creating a just society where inequalities are confronted and rectified.
- Secularism: While we are a community bound by a common belief system, we firmly believe in the separation of religion and state. Our spiritual values and practices are to enrich the individual and community life but we respect the need for governance to remain secular and impartial to ensure everyone’s rights and freedoms are respected, regardless of their religious or non-religious beliefs.

IV. Spiritual and Cosmological Principles:
- Science and Spirituality: We actively promote the integration of science and spirituality. We believe they are not antithetical, but complement each other in the pursuit of understanding our place in the universe. Science allows us to unravel the laws of the physical universe, while spirituality grants us the wisdom to navigate our inner world and find meaning in our existence.
- Evolution and Progress: We firmly believe in the process of evolution and progress at all levels - physical, mental, societal, and spiritual. We firmly believe and understand that to be stagnant is to be left behind. Progression and evolution are signs of life and vitality. We aspire to encapsulate these principles in our own lives, in our society, and in our approach to understanding the cosmos.
- Transandnce through Science and Nature: Our spiritual orientation manifests in our view of God, or the ultimate truth, as revealed through scientific exploration, the study of nature, and the understanding of the universe. We believe that every strand of DNA, every tree in the forest, every star in the night sky, reveals a piece of this cosmic puzzle. We take joy in the pursuit of scientific knowledge as each new discovery brings us closer to unfurling the grand design of existence.

V. Socio-Economic Principles:
- Universal Basic Income: We firmly uphold the principle of Universal Basic Income, recognizing its potential to address socio-economic disparity. We view financial stability as a basic human right that can ensure dignity and open up opportunities for all. Such a system, we believe, can ensure that every individual can meet their basic needs, reducing socio-economic tension and fostering a society where everyone can participate and contribute meaningfully.

VI. Adaptive Values:
- Adaptivity and Resilience: As we live in an era marked by rapid technological advances and environmental challenges, we prioritize adaptivity and resilience. We encourage our community to be flexible, to learn and adapt to changes, and to develop resilience in the face of adversity. Our goal is to foster a society that not just survives change and challenges, but harnesses them for growth and sustained improvement.

VII. Moral Defence:
- Defence of Good: We believe that goodness is not a given; it is something we must continually strive for and defend. It’s a value that requires constant nurturing, commitment, and demonstration. Every individual in our community is encouraged to uphold and promote this virtue, challenging injustices and standing up for what is right.

VIII. Global Unity:
- Borderless Existence: We envision Fibonacci as a borderless entity, unconfined to geographical boundaries. Our philosophy of unity and togetherness extends to every piece of land on Earth and beyond, into the cosmos. We promote a sense of global citizenship, recognizing that every part of the world and space is intertwined and interdependent.

IX. Inclusive Membership:
- Open Membership: The doors to Fibonacci are open to any individual who resonates with and agrees to honour our values. Provided they receive an endorsement from an existing Fibonacci citizen, any person, regardless of their location, background, or current belief system, can join us. We believe in the strength of unity in diversity, learning from one another and evolving together.
